Although the 1900 census gave her birth year as 1886 - her social security record states she was born 4 May 1885.

1910 Census. Willie E. Haynes, age 25, Married 2 years. b. KY as were his parents. Salesman, Dry goods store. [Probably working for Emma's father] Emma, wife, age 25. No children; b. TX as were both her parents.

Emma married Willie Haynes. She was age 43 in the 1930 census, widow, and the Proprietor of a Boarding House at 313 Third Avenue in Durant OK. A daughter Imogene, age 14, and born in OK was also in the household.

I believe that Emma divorced William Haynes before 1930 and he went on to marry again and move to Washington. Their son William Truman apparently went with his father.

Emma Haynes died at St. Joseph's Hospital in El Paso, TX, on 6 Feb 1975. Her residence was 403 Baltimore and she had lived in El Paso for 24 years. She was born 4 May 1885 (I think it actually 1886) in Ladonia, TX. She was age 89, and a widow at the time of her death. Her father was James Clayton Haden; her mother Permelia Moore. Mrs. Emogene Barrett, daughter, was the informant. She died of pneumonia complicated by arteriosclerosis, Parkinsons, and a urinary tract infection. Burial on Feb 7th at Restlawn Memorial Park, El Paso.

Mrs. Emma May Haynes, 89, 403 Baltimore, passed away Thursday, she had been a resident of El Paso 24 years; was a member of the Baptist church. Suvived by daughter; Mrs. Imogene Barrett of the family home. Son; William Truman Haynes, Freamont, Calif. 6 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren. Sister: Mrs. C. C. Low, Dallas, Texas.
