Haynes, William T. There will be a private family services held at a later date for William T. Haynes, 80, of Sequim. Mr. Haynes died January 15, 1993 at his home in Sequim. He was born June 30, 1912 in Durant, OK to William E. and Emma Haden Haynes. He moved to Spokane WA when he was 16 and attended West Valley High School. He married Alexandra Turner on January 18, 1936 in Spokane, WA. They lived in Spokane until 1952 when they lived in Kennewick until 1957 and they moved back to Spokane until 1962. They then moved to Fremont, CA until 1974, when they moved to Port Angeles, WA and resided there until 1978 when they moved to Vashon Island until 1983. They moved to Sequim, WA in 1987 from Montrose, CO. Bill worked as a carpenter all his working life, mostly in housing construction, until his retirement in 1984. He was a charter member of the Spokane Archery Club in 1938. He was the Washington State Archery Champion, Inland Empire Archery Champion, Pacific North West Archery Champion, and in 1942, the National Indoor Archery Champion. He is survived by his wife, Alexandra, of Sequim; son, William A. Haynes of Portland, OR; and two daughters, Susan Haynes-Schnetz of Auburn, CA and Sandra M. Underwood of Sequim, WA; five grandchildren; and one great-grandson. Arrangements are entrusted to the Olympic Cremation Association, Port Angeles, WA.
