This daughter who married John Clay is listed as Elizabeth in the Curd family book, but she certainly seems to have been Sarah.

Sarah married John Clay, son of Henry and Mary Mitchell Clay about 1740, probably in Goochland Co. They had two sons, John b. abt 1742, and Edward born a few years later. In Sep 1766, Edward Watkins gave testimony in Chesterfield Co VA Court for John Clay, son of John & Sarah Watkins Clay. He stated that John Clay dec'd, father of the plaintiff had intermarried with daughter Sarah, now also deceased & mother of the Plaintiff. John Clay and his brother Edward are the only children or issue of my daughter.
After the death of Sarah Watkins Clay, her husband John married Mary Bass, his sister-in-law, as evidenced in his will [Chesterfield Co VA Will Book 1, p342; Probated 5 Nov 1762.]
John Clay, Plaintiff in the above lawsuiut married Elizabeth Hudson. He was a Baptist minister and died in 1781 in Hanover Co VA. One of the sons of John and Elizabeth Hudson Clay was Henry Clay, statesman and orator.
Edward Clay married Magdelene Trabue, daughter of John James and Olympia Dupuy Trabue. They moved to Alabama.
