David Dodson

(Aft 1740 - )

David is named as a son of George & Margaret by Rev. Elias Dodson; his birth was not recorded in the Parish Register. He patented 440 acres in Pittsylvania Co in 1773. They possibly lived in Hawkins/Grainger Co TN for awhile and then moved to Pulaski County KY with some of wife's family. In 1809 a deed revealed David to be living in Adair Co KY, selling his land in Pulaski. David apparently died in Maury Co TN about 1816; an Elizabeth Dodson is enumerated in the 1820 census, living between David and Abner Dodson [sons]. There also appears to be a David Jr in Pittsylvania Co - married to a Frances "Fanny".
