Mary "Polly" Hobson

Mary was the daughter of William Stamps who died 1763 in Fauquier Co and his wife Ellinor Brent. William was the son of William Stamps who died before Apr 1746 and his wife Mary Byrd.
Timothy and Mary were 1st cousins once removed.
[The above is how this is given in the Stamps database. There is obviously a problem with the information as Mary's birth is given as 1783 and this fits well with her marriage date, etc. However, her supposed father had already been dead for 20 years by 1783 unless that information is wrong. She was also born 20 years after Catherine & James whose births were recorded by the Rev. Douglas in Goochland Co VA. There is possibly a missing generation.]

John Wade is to pay costs of suit and expenses of sales and divide the residue of money in to eight equal parts, retaining one part as his own right, one part to Watkins Hobson, one part to Richard Hobson, one part to John Terry & Henreitta his wife, one part to William & Benjamin Hobson, heirs of Benjamin Hobson, dec'd, one other eight part of William Hobson & Benjamin Hobson of the reversion of Sarah Sweeney's interest under the will of Matthew Hobson, dec'd provided John Wade pay to Sarah Sweeney, annually the legal interest on that amount until her death, four-sevenths of one eighth part of James Wall, Charles, Wall, Mathew Wall & Elizabeth Brandson, late Elizabeth Wall being their interest under Sarah Wall, three-sevenths of one eighth part to the three infant children of Sarah Whitfield, formerly Sarah Wall, and the other eighth part thereof to Timothy Stamps in application.

Mary Hobson was first married to William Carter, 23 Mar 1801. As Polly Carter she married Timothy Stamps, 30 Dec 1811.
