Arthur Reed Wishard, 66, of Greenville, passed away on Thursday, October 28, 2004, in a Dallas hospital. Services were held on Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at Johnson Street Church of Christ, Greenville with Matt Richardson and Bill Luttrell officiating. Burial was held in Oak Ridge Cemetery at Ladonia.
Mr. Wishard was born on March 9, 1938 in Honey Grove to Arthur Wayne and Cora Sue Wishard. On November 30, 1962, he married Gene Lowry in Frisco. He served in the U.S. Army and was employed by and retired from TU Electric (Dallas Power & Light).
Mr. Wishard served as son leader & deacon at the Quinlan Church of Christ and 18th & P Church of Christ in Plano, served as song leader and elder at Boles Home Church of Christ, and currently was a member of Johnson Street Church of Christ, Greenville.
Survivors are his wife, Gene, of Greenville; a son, Alan Reed Wishard and wife, Charmaine, of Parker, Colorado; his father, Arthur Wayne Wishard of Honey Grove; a sister, Hazanne Luttrell & husband, Bill, of Abilene; brothers, Bill Wishard & wife, Helen, of N. Richland Hills and Larry Wishard and wife, Sheila, of Centenniel, Colorado; aunts, Doodie Phillips of Southlake and Johnny Fink of Oak Ridge; and a grandson, Austin Reed Wishard.
He was preceded in death by his mother in 2003 and a daughter, Gena May Wishard in 1996.
Peters Funeral Home of Greenville, Texas was in charge of arrangements.
