Joseph Joy bought land in 1678/9 of Dennis Crampton, both given as "of Guilford".
Date of inventory of his estate is 24 Sep 1690. Died in a military expedition to Canada - signed a Will before leaving. He was of Fairfield, the will dated 28 Apr 1690, and he was leaving with the expedition against the French in Canada. Legacies were to his cousins [nephews/nieces] Joseph Bennett, Deborah Joy, and Mary Joy. The residue of his estate to Walter Joy, son of his brother Jacob. Jacob and Samuel Hubbell Sr, to be Executors. Nephew Walter Joy was already deceased and his share was ordered to his sisters Deborah, the wife of Andrew Ward, and Mary Joy.
