The application of Major John Curd to restore his Revolutionary pension was dated 6 Nov 1826. Curd stated that he had an orphan grandson, Richard H. Slaughter living with him that was at that time aged three years and eight months. He stated that both mother and father were dead. He also had a slave belonging to Richard, a small girl.
