Individual Details

George P./ Alvin A. "Ab" Allen

(May 1893 - Dec 1966)

In 1900, all three motherless children were living with their grandparents in the Creek Nation. The middle child listed as George P. a grandson, born May 1893, age 7.

Patty Sweet gave me his name as "Ab" and it may be actually Alvin Allen. Or this may be the wrong person entirely. Could there have been an older son, not living with the other three?

I believe I found Ab Allen in Leflore Co OK, Wister Twp, in 1920. His age was very hard to read, b. OK; his parents b. AR. He was a log cutter at the saw mill. His wife was Goldie, age 25 - there were two stepdaughters, Bertha Burton age 7 and Bessie age 5 - so apparently Goldie had previously been married. There was also Alta Allen, a daughter, age 1 and 7/12 or 9/12, and I would presume she was Ab's child.

Alvin Allen of Fanshawe, Leflore Co, OK was age 49, b. 29 May 1892 in Tuskahoma, OK. W. B. Shipman of Fanshawe would always know his address. He was a farmer. 5'7", 135 lbs. Gray eyes & hair.

Social Security Death Index cites his birth as 29 May 1891. Fanshawe, Le Flore Co, OK was his last residence. He died Dec 1966.

I have an autosomal match through Ab and wife. The Ancestry family tree gives his wife as Goldie Cutsinger.

I chased the following George Allen, thinking he was a possibility but his FindAGrave entry would seem to say otherwise. Find A Grave Memorial# 15912456. Buried as George E. Allen, Ramona Cemetery, Washington Co, OK. Born 9 Oct 1894 (not May of 1893), died 16 Jan 1961 in Osage Co, OK. Grave is near his father, noted as John Thomas Allen who died in Ramona, 29 May 1938.

George Allen married 6 Oct 1917 in Bartlesville, Washington Co, OK to Leona Baglion, He was 22 (born 1895); she was 20 (born 1897).
