Clara Adelia's birth certificate gives her father as Joe B. Haden, Jr., age 35, b. Ladonia, TX, merchant. Her mother was Clara Fulton, also born in Ladonia, age 33. This was their first child - she was born at 10:30 AM.

Her grandfather's diary states she had her tonsils removed on 19 Jun 1933.

Graduated from Ladonia High School, Class of 1943; May 30, 1947 Ladonia News.

LADONIA: Engagement Announced at Ladonia Saturday
The engagement and approaching marriage of Miss Clara Adelia Haden, daughter of Mr. & Mrs. J. B. Haden, Jr., to Edward White, son of Dr. & Mrs. Edward H. White, Dallas, was announced at a tea Saturday afternoon at the Haden home. The wedding will take place here in First Baptist Church, August 1.
The bride-elect attended Mary Hardin - Baylor College, Belton and is a graduate of Texas State College for Women, Denton. Mr. White, graduate of Southern Methodist University, Dallas, is attending the University of Texas School of Medicine in Galveston.

Clara Haden “Claire” White, 88, of Amarillo died Monday, July 13, 2015.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in First Presbyterian Church Chapel with Dr. Murray Gossett, associate pastor, officiating. Burial will be Friday in Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery in Dallas. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.
Claire was born Sept. 16, 1926, in Paris to Joe Ben and Clara Haden. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Texas Woman’s University and a Master of Library Sciences degree from University of North Texas. [Note: this was an error - she obtained her degrees from TWU which was then known at Texas State College for Women.] Claire married Edward White, M.D., on Aug. 11, 1951. He preceded her in death on Aug. 1, 1999.
She was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma, PEO Chapter Z and Daughters of the Republic of Texas. Claire also was a member of Park Cities Baptist Church in Dallas and attended First Presbyterian Church in Amarillo.
The family gives special thanks to Hospice Care of the Southwest and Caring Senior Service, especially Debbie, Tonya, Taylor Anne and Sylvia.
She also was preceded in death by a brother, Joe Ben Haden III.
Survivors include two daughters, Sharon White and husband Terry Easterling and Virginia Beaumont; a son, Gregory White; four grandchildren, Megan Easterling, Alex Easterling, Claire White and Stephen Michael Duval and wife Kitrina; and a great-grandchild, Erika Duval.

Clara Haden "Claire" White, 88, of Amarillo, died Monday, July 13, 2015.
Services were 11 a.m. Thursday, July 16, in First Presbyterian Church Chapel with Dr. Murray Gossett, associate pastor, officiating. Burial was Friday, July 17, in Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery in Dallas. Arrangements were by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd., Amarillo, TX.
Claire was born Sept. 16, 1926, in Paris, Texas, to Joe Ben, Jr. and Clara Fulton Haden. Ladonia High School valedictorian in 1943, she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree "with honors" in 1947 in library science from Texas Woman’s University, where she was elected to Alpha Chi, an academic honor society. She later earned a Master of Library Science degree in 1980 from TWU, where she was elected to Beta Phi Mu, a library science honor society.
Claire married Edward White, M.D., F.A.C.S., on Aug. 11, 1951. He preceded her in death on Aug. 1, 1999. A homemaker and professional librarian, Claire managed libraries at the University of Texas Lab School in Austin (1947-1948), Southern Methodist University (1948-1950), Del Mar College in Corpus Christi (1950-1951), Texas City ISD (1951-1955), Irving ISD (1977-1978) and Highland Park ISD in Dallas at John S. Bradfield Elementary School (1978-1992).
Active in the John S. Bradfield Elementary PTA, she served as PTA president (1973-1974).
She was a member and 1992-1994 president of Delta Omicron Chapter of The Delta Kappa Gamma Society International professional education honor society, PEO Chapter Z and The Daughters of the Republic of Texas, James Butler Bonham Chapter in Dallas. Claire also was a member of Park Cities Baptist Church in Dallas since 1958 and attended First Presbyterian Church in Amarillo since 2002.
While in Amarillo, Claire taught reading to children enrolled in America’s Promise Alliance, founded in 1997 by Gen Colin L. Powell.
A talented cook with a deep interest in her Texas heritage, Claire loved her family, reading, watching college football and the Dallas Cowboys.
The family gives special thanks to Howard L. Berg, M.D., the staff at Baptist St. Anthony’s (BSA) Health System and Hospice Care of the Southwest. Retired, Dr. Berg replaced both of Claire’s knees, in 2005 and 2013, improving her mobility.
She also was preceded in death in February 1982 by a brother, Joe Ben Haden III, M.D.
Survivors include two daughters, Sharon White and husband Terry Easterling and Virginia Beaumont; a son, Gregory Alexander White; four grandchildren, Megan Easterling, Alex Easterling, Claire White and Stephen Michael Duval and wife Kitrina; and a great-grandchild, Erika Nicole Duval.

Note: at the time Claire attended TWU, the name of the school was Texas State College for Women. The name was changed to Texas Women's University in 1957.

Claire is buried Sparkman Hillcrest Memorial Park, Dallas, Texas.
