John Baker & Henry Morris were Bondsmen on George Baker's marriage. bond 29 Aug
1778 in Wilkes Co, NC. From the NC Archives:
Know all men by these presents that we George Baker, John Baker, Henry Morris, all of the County of Wilkes and State of North Carolina are held and firmly Bound unto Richard Caswell Esqr Governor of Said State in the full Sum of five hundred Pounds Proc money to be paid to the said Richard Caswell Esqr Governor and his Successors which payment well and Truly to be made and Done we bind ourselves our Heirs Executors and Administrators Jointly and severally firmly by these presents Sealed with out Seals and Dated this 29th Day of August 1778
The Condition of the above Obligation is such that whereas the above Bound George Baker hath this Day above written made application for a marriage Licence to be Solemnized Between him and Susanna Morris. now if there be nothing to Obstruct the Said marriage for which the aforesaid Licence is Desired But it be in every Respect Lawful then this Obligation to be void Otherwise to Remain in full force and Virtue.

Applied for his Revolutionary Pension 13 Nov 1832, Morgan Co IN; he was age 73. He enlisted in 1776 in May or June.
Served six terms in the Revolutionary War. One term he spent scouting for Indians. At one point he served under Capt. Andrew Baker.
He was born in Granville Co NC, 14 Oct 1759. At one time he had a record of his age in a Bible but it is lost.
He lived in Wilkes County, North Carolina about 25 years after the war. He then moved to Clay County, Kentucky where he lived about 20 years. In 1827 he moved to Morgan County, Indiana where he has been about 5 years.
James Lunford, Clergyman, and John Gray, Senr. testified to the truth of the deposition.
Boling Baker testified in Morgan Co for his brother George. Signed: Bolin (x) Baker
