Amanda divorced James Curry and I don't know what happened to the two little boys, Taylor and James but by November of 1866, Rachel had married Leroy Black and the Curry children do not appear with her in 1870 - apparently they died as the 1900 census stated she had nine children and only two were then living. It would appear that the oldest son, Ulysses Black, was perhaps a son of an earlier marriage of Leroy's and not Rachel's child. Actually descendants claim that Ulysses was a Curry, born 16 Mar 1864.

1900 Census. Monroe Twp, Monroe Co, MO Hh 396
Leroy Black, b. Aug 1839, age 60, married 34 years. Born Illinois as were his parents.
Amanda, b. Feb 1838, age 61. Had 9 children, 2 are living. Born Ohio. Said her father was born "at sea", her mother b. Illinois.
Note: Strangely enough, Rachel's brother Harvey stated his father born in Ireland. He was not, neither was he born at sea. But there must have been some immigrant story in the family traditions. Both Harrison and Ira, the other brothers, stated in 1900 that their father was born in Ohio.

Amanda was not found in 1910.
