Exact birthdates for many of the children in a mail list posting, do not agree with the census ages.

According to a Gabbard researcher, they left for Arkansas about 1880. Not found in the Crawford Co Census for that year.
Jacob B. Gabbard received a land patent in Crawford Co for 148.39 acres on 22 Jul 1890. It was in Section 2, Twp 12, R 29.

Mahala, wife, b. Jul 1824 also age 75 and married 54 years born KY both parents born VA
Jacob M., son, b. Feb 1866 age 34 married 4 years b. KY as were both parents Farm Labor
Mindia, daughter-in-law, b. Jul 1878 age 24 1 child born, 1 living she was born in AR as were both her parents
Mahala, granddaughter, b. Oct 1898 age 1 b. AR father b. KY mother b. AR

Found in Kenney Cemetery in the Winfrey Valley, Crawford Co AR. Jackob B. Gabbard, Co A, 47th KY Inf.
Civil War Pension Index on Ancesty shows a record for Jacob B. Gabbard, wife Mahala, & this is his unit & would have been Union. Jacob applied for his Invalid Pension on 30 June 1880, Application #392.815, Certificate #603.492 (place not given). Mahala applied for Widow's Pension on 5 Dec 1907, Application #880.768, Certificate #644.278 in Arkansas.

He is in the Pension Index for both a soldier's invalid pension and a widow's pension.
