Benjamin Sherrod married Mary Ricks, daughter of Abraham Ricks and Anne Ross. They had Richard and Benjamin who was born 16 Jan 1777 in Halifax County, North Carolina, and died 25 Feb 1847 in Lawrence County, Alabama; Benjamin migrated to Wilkes County, GA circa 1800 and moved on to Alabama about 1821.

p.205 27 Oct 1804, Robert & John Bolton of Savannah, GA sold to Benjamin Sherrod of Washington Co GA, planter for $6250, an undivided moiety on Fishing Creek. 1000 acres, where Joseph Bevan resides known as French Mills, bought by Beven of Louis Maquere & Nicholas Leprestre & by Bevan sold to Robert & John Bolton on 16 Mar 1803. Signed John Bolton surviving & acting copartner.
p.193 On 17 Nov 1804, Joseph Bevan, planter to Benjamin Sherrod, planter, of Washington Co GA for $6250, 1000 acres on Fishing Creek where Bevan lived commonly known as the French Mills and all livestock, mills & machinery, and slaves. The other undivided moiety of land said Bevan sold to Robert & John Bolton on 16 Mar 1803. Signed at Savannah.
p.107 Benjamin Sherrod of Wilkes Co GA sold to the firm of Robert & John Bolton of Savannah GA for $400 the slave Dilcey in posession of Joseph Bevan. Dated at Savannah on 5 Dec 1804.
p.76: Benjamin Sherrod of Washington Co GA, planter & Louis Maquire & Nickolas Leprestre by deeds on 5 Oct 1802 sold to Joseph Bevan, 1000 acres on Fishing Creek in Wilkes Co. Bevan deeded on 16 Mar 1803, 190 acres to Robert & John Bolton. Bolton sold Sherrod 190 acres on 27 Oct. 1804.
