4 May 1796 Madison Co KY Court Orders: Jesse appointed surveyor of the road from Irvine's lick to the forks of the Boonsborough & Tates Creek Roads. 2 Jan 1798; Edward Brown took his place.

Jesse served in the Revolutionary war as a volunteer in 1780 in Rowan County, NC in the militia. He served a term of three months under John Johnson, Captain. He was then appointed to Major General Rutherford and marched to Camden, SC. After discharge, when the Tories became too powerful, he and his mother, then a widow, moved to Virginia. After the Tories were driven back in the fall of 1781 he returned to Rowan County,where he again volunteered and served another three months. Jesse states that he was born in Charles County, MD in 1761.Then he moved from Maryland to Loudoun County, VA, from there to Rowan County, NC, thence to KY in 1784 where he lived in Estill County.

James Noland of Estill County, Kentucky, aged 92 years, made oath: that he recollects that his brother, Jesse Noland, was serving as a volunteer in the Militia during the Revolutionary War as he stated.

Jesse Noland of Estill County, Kentucky, who was a private in the company commanded by Colonel Locke in North Carolina line for 6 months from 1780 was inscribed on the Roll of the Kentucky Agency to commence on the 4th of March 1831. Certificate of the pension was issued Januuary 16, 1833.
