Hattie Neal, 93, of Fort Smith, died Saturday, August 4, 1990 in a Fort Smith nursing home.
She was a retired school teacher, having taught in the Crawford County School System for 48 years, a member of Wood Memorial Christian Church and a native of Crawford County. She was preceded in death by her husband, the late R.A. "Gus" Neal, in 1958.
Survivors are a daughter, Alene Crabtree of Fort Smith; three sisters, Edith Mills of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Pearl Bray of Fort Smith and Inez Ewing of Lubbock,Texas; five brothers, George and Joe Haggard, both of Van Buren, and Garth, Harold and Jack Haggard all of Tulsa; a granddaughter, Joyce Adams of Alma, and two great grandchildren, Pam Cherico and Bert Adams both of Alma.
Funeral services were Monday, August 6 at Ocker Memorial Chapel with burial in Forest Park Cemetery. The Rev. Richard Hubbard and the Rev. Rupert Pixley Officiated.
Husband R. A. "Gus" Neal is also buried Forest Park Cemetery. There is a joint marker.
