17 Aug 1798 Will in Madison County KY; proved 4 Dec 1798. Feather-bed to dearly beloved daughter Polly (no surname) estate equally divided when the youngest child becomes of age. Witnesses: Samuel Hopper, William Noland. Executors appointed: Henry Noland, Joseph Skinner.
6 Nov 1798. Madison Co Ky Court Orders: Will of Joshua Noland was proved by the oath of Samuel Hopper and William Noland [prob nephew, son of Henry] and ordered recorded. Henry Noland [his brother] and Joseph Skinner, executors named were granted certificate for obtaining probate. Jesse Thomas, Pleasant Profit, Robert Jamerson, & Elias Barker Sr or any three to take inventory and appraise estate.
4 Feb 1799 Inventory of Joshua Noland, dec. Appraisers: Robert Jameson, Jesse Thomas, Pleasant Profit. 2 Jul 1799, Returned and ordered to be recorded. (Note: Pleasant Proffit is brother-in-law of Robert Martin who married daughter Mary "Polly" Noland, )
3 Dec 1799 James Bates vs. Joshua Nolin's executors on appeal. Sheriff commanded to summon the apellees.
3 Mar 1800 James Bates vs. Joshua Nolin's executors on appeal. The judgment of Asa Searcy is confirmed and upheld. James Bates pay Robert Smith 69p for attending one day and travelling 16 miles as witness for him against Joshua Nolin's executors. Ordered that Joshua Nolins executors pay Thomas Burrass 61p for attending one day and riding eighteen miles as a witness for them at the suit of James Bates. Ordered that Joshua Nolins executors pay Elizabeth Nolin 25p for attending one day as a witness for them at the suit of James Bates. (Elizabeth probably his daughter)
