World War I Draft Registration. Benjamin S. Harrison, Rushville, Ill. Born July 6th, 1892, Winslow, Arkansas. Telephone Lineman, employed by Schuyler Telephone Co., Rushville. Single, Caucasian. He claims exemption from the draft because of a a bad ankle. Description: Medium build, medium height, grey eyes, dark hair. Disabled with bad ankle.

The bad ankle apparently did not keep him out of service:

Benjamin S. Harrison left New York City on the Empress of Russia. His residence was Chester, AR. His mother, Edith J. Harrison. He was a Private in the 3rd Anti-Aircraft Battalion, Battery B.
