Charles Wyman Cooke was born 6 June 1882 at Beloit, Mitchell County, Kansas, and died 27 July 1959 at Mountain Home, White County, Arkansas, of cancer. He married Mary Ethel Leslie on 17 February 1909. She was born in 1885 at Beloit, Kansas. Charles was a farmer, stone mason and plasterer and wrote poetry as a hobby. Ethel taught school before marriage and also taught piano.

There were five (5) children born of the marriage.

On the 1930 U. S. Census of Bloomfield, Mitchell Co., Kansas, Charles Cooke appears with his wife Ethel and children Louise, Alice, Ava, Donald and Vance. All were born in Kansas. Charles is a farmer.
