Dorothy Marie Donnelly was born 9 October 1920 in Keokuk, Lee County, Iowa. She married June 1950 to John Conrad White.

Daughter of John Joseph and Mary Caroline Kirkpatrick Donnelly.
Married John Conrad White June 23, 1949. He preceded her in death in 1998.
Survivors include brother Bob (Ruth) Donnelly; daughters Kay Staeger and Laura (Dean) Hemly; grandchildren Kevin West, Jennifer West, Rachel Schneider, and David Schneider; nieces Diana Busst of Huntington, Calif., Linn (Bill) Ball of Broken Arrow, Okla., and Denise (Terry) Hamburger of Weatherford, Okla.; nephews, Steve (Carol) Gates of Keokuk, Randy (Christy) Davison of Broken Arrow, Bill (Gayle) Donnelly of Bixby and Brendan Donnelly of Honolulu, Hawaii; and many great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces, great-great-nephews and friends.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, brothers Joe and David Donnelly and sisters Ruth Davison (Jim Gates, Bill Davison) and Betty Donnelly.
Graduate of Keokuk High School.
Received a degree in Christian Education from Chicago Theological Seminary.
Dorothy worked as an elementary teacher for two years in Creston. She and her husband were called as missionaries by the United Missionary Board and served for five years in south India. She also worked as a secretary, a manager in banking and a professional editor.
Retired to Sammamish in 1986.
Founding member of the Spirit of Peace United Church of Christ in Sammamish, where she was deeply involved as an advocate for LGBTQ rights.
Memorial service Jan. 22, 2017 in Sammamish.
