Creston News Advertiser, Creston, Iowa, Tuesday, March 12, 1968, Page 10, Col. 1: Anna Kirkpatrick Dies Here at 83. Mrs. Anna V. Kirkpatrick, 83, died at the Greater Community hospital here at 9:20 p.m. Monday. She had been ill for the past two months. Mrs. Kirkpatrick had lived in Creston, with her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. George Whitmarsh, at 1013 west Adams street, since 1967. She had lived in Lee county from 1909 to 1933, in Des Moines from 1933 to 1943, and in Kansas City from 1943 until coming to Creston last year. Funeral services will be held at Coens Home for Funerals at 2 p.m. Thursday. Rev. Marshal Hinds, pastor of the First Congregational church, will officiate. Burial will be in Companion Garden at Graceland cemetery. Her body will lie in state at the funeral home until time of the services. The casket will not be opened after the services. Anna V. Ege was born at Brock, Nebr., Dec. 7, 1881. She was the daughter of Stephen and Fannie Carlisle Ege. She was married Nov. 9, 1904 at Tecumseh, Nebr., to Charles A. Kirkpatrick, who preceded her in death May 3, 1956. Mrs. Kirkpatrick is survived by a daughter, Mrs. George (Leila) Whitmarsh of Creston; two sons, Charles A. Kirkpatrick of Cedar Rapids and David M. Kirkpatrick of Grand Rapids Mich.; eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren; and a brother, David W. Ege of Montrose, two brothers and a sister preceded her in death. Mrs. Kirkpatrick was a life-long member of the Christian church and was a member of the Memorial Christian church of Kansas City, Mo., at the time of her death.
