Raymond "Ray" Burt Kirkpatrick

Ray Burt (sometimes called Bertie Ray) Kirkpatrick was born 27 November 1890 in Seward County, Nebraska. On 3 July 1922 he married at Kimball, Kimball County, Nebraska, Theadora Ruff, daughter of Joseph Alonzo and Kitty Jane (Hobbs) Ruff, who was born 11 September 1903 in Sterling, Johnson County, Nebraska.

In 1917, Ray filed on a homestead of 530 acres in Hooker County, Nebraska*, but after his marriage they lived in Denver, Colorado. In 1942 he was employed on the Manhattan Project in Hanford, Washington. His work included machining and setting the carbon blocks for the atomic reactors.

Ray died 3 June 1954 in Denver, Colorado, and is buried in Crown Hill Cemetery, Jefferson County, Colorado. Theadora died 14 May 1979 in Denver, and is also buried at Crown Hill Cemetery.

There were two (2) children born of the marriage.
