Clara May Kirkpatrick was born on 30 January 1887 in Seward, Seward Co., Nebraska and died 4 August 1922 in Seneca, Thomas County, Nebraska, of complications resulting from childbirth. She is buried in Seneca, Thomas County, Nebraska. On 16 November 1913 she married in Seneca, Jesse Crawford, who died about 1970 in Stillwater, Payne County, Oklahoma. Her last child, Clair Crawford, was given up for adoption by his father to a family named Carpenter. Clair bore that name as his own, Carpenter.

There were four (4) children born of the marriage.
