Alice Belle Kirkpatrick

Alice Belle Kirkpatrick was born 26 July 1882 in Warren County, Illinois, and died on 12 February 1942 in Crawford, Dawes County, Nebraska. On 28 May 1899, she married in Sioux County, Nebraska, Albert Hill, the son of Sanford and Mary (Wilson) Hill, who was born 11 September 1867 in Nodaway County, Missouri, and died in December 1944. Albert and Alice had a ranch northeast of Harrison, in Sioux County, Nebraska.

There were eleven (11) children born of the marriage.

Mrs. Albert Hill, who moved to Crawford recently from Sioux county, Nebraska, died at her home in this city on Thursday, February 12, 1942 after a long illness. No arrangements had been made for the funeral when we went to press.

Alice Bell Kirkpatrick was born in Youngstown, Illinois, July 26, 1882. She was six weeks old when the family moved to Seward county, Nebraska, residing there until 1892when they came to Sioux county, The family first lived on the A. R. Kennedy ranch and later moved to the valley in the vicinity of Bodarc.

On May 28, 1899 she was united in marriage to Albert F. Hill and to this union eleven children were born. Two children, Elizabeth and Robert died at an early age, and Mrs. Bernice Anderson died in 1939. The family lived on their ranch in the valley until May, 1941, when they moved to Crawford.

Mrs. Hill had been seriously ill for the past six months and had been confined to the hospital at Alliance for some time. She passed away at her home in Crawford, February 12, 1942. Her honesty, thoughtfulness and generosity to her family and friends distinguished her as a loving and faithful mother and neighbor. Only a few days before her death, she requested that an appreciation for the many letters and cards received from her friends be placed in the Harrison Sun.

Surviving her, besides her husband are three daughters, Mrs. Frances DeHaven of Harrison, Nebr.; Mrs. Leona Corbin and Mrs. Irene Hymer of Crawford, Nebr.; five sons, Ray Hill of Bozeman, Mont., Arthur Hill of Douglas, Wyo.; Edward and Clyde Hill of Crawford, Neb.; and Clarence Hill of Livingston, Mont.; one sister, Mrs. Ed Rodewald of Seneca, Nebr.; two brothers, Ray Kirkpatrick of Denver, Colo.; and Newton Kirkpatrick of Healdsburg, Calif.; eighteen grandchildren, fifteen nieces and nephews.-----Harrison Sun.
