Lexington Herald, Lexington, Kentucky, Tuesday, January 6, 1970, Page 2, Col. 8: Amis, Oscar J., 78, resident of Buckhorn, Ky., died Monday morning at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Virgie Johnson, Route 6, Greendale Pike. Retired farmer, son of the late William and Margaret Johnson Amis. Member of the Big Rock Baptist church. Other survivors, four sons, Billy Ray Amis, Georgetown, Ralph Amis, Cimmaskey, Ora Amis, North Vernon, Indiana, Sp. 5th Class Lewis Amis, Fort Lewis, Washington, two brothers, Ralph Amis, Indiana and Alfred Amis, Lexington, eighteen grandchildren, four great grandchildren. Services 4 p.m. Tuesday at Kerr Brothers, the body will be taken to Engle Funeral Home, Hazard, Ky. Wednesday morning, services will be held 2 p.m. Thursday at Johnson's Baptist Church, burial in Perry County Cemetery. Friends may call at Kerr Brothers after 2 p.m. Tuesday.
