Services 1 p.m. Wednesday at Harlan Presbyterian Church. Visitation 6 to 9 p.m. today at Anderson-Laws Funeral Home.

The Harlan Daily Enterprise, Harlan, Kentucky, Tuesday, January 23, 1990, Page 9, Col. 2 & 3: Mrs. Hazel Simpson, 80, Harlan, died Monday at her home. A native of Perry County, she had lived here since 1933. She was a retired teacher, having served in the Harlan Independent and Harlan County school systems. She was a member of the Harlan Presbyterian Church. Daughter of the late L. A. and Lou Etta Abshear Johnson, she is survived by her husband, Raymond Simpson, Harlan; and two children Kenneth Simpson, Middlesboro; and Tom Simpson, Woodland Hills. Also surviving are four grandchildren and a sister, Mrs. Virginia Thornburg, Harlan. The funeral will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. at the Harlan Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Fred Griffie officiating. Burial will be in Resthaven Cemetery. pallbearers will be Charles Berger, Herbert Walters, John Myers, Ray Alred, Tommy Ward, Jim Bob Miller, Tommy Pope, Ron Osborne and Jay Whitaker. Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. today at Anderson Laws Funeral Home.
