Violet Davis was born 7 July 1883, Marceline, Linn County, Missouri and died 13 July 1967, in Middleburg, Carrol County, Maryland. She married 5 October 1905, in Marceline, Missouri, to William Eugene Younkin, son of Aaron Schrock and Sarah Avaline (Alton) Younkin, who was born 19 February 1880, in Beatrice, Gage County, Nebraska, and died 9 April 1947, Bethesda, Montgomery County, Maryland.

Frederick News Post, Frederick, Maryland, Friday, July 14, 1967, Page 22, Col. 1: Mrs. Violet Frances Younkin, 84, formerly of Wisconsin Avenue in Washington, D. C., died Thursday afternoon in the Brookfield Manor Nursing Home in Middleburg, after an extended illness. She was born in Missouri, a daughter of the late Dr. and Mrs. Ellen Butler Davis. Mrs. Younkin was the wife of the late William Eugene Younkin who passed away several years ago. Surviving are one son, K. E. Younkin, Frederick, four grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Monday at 10 a.m. at the Libertytown funeral home of D. D., Hartzler and Sons. Father Wade Hampton, pastor of St. Timothy's Episcopal Church, Frederick, will officiate. Friends may call at the funeral home after Sunday noon. Burial will be in the Washington National Cemetery in Suitland.
