Rhoden; children of Bessie and William Rhoden: Charles William Rhoden, Irene Rhoden (who married _____ Sutton). Charles Hardin Kirkpatrick married 2/ Nannie Lewis Barrett, 8 March 1921 at Alvo, Nebraska.
1880 U. S. Census of Tipton, Cass Co., Nebraska shows Charles and Anna. Charles is a farmer. No children in the home. They have a farm laborer Oliver Dinkins age 23 living in their home.

Charles H. Kirkpatrick was born Nov. 27, 1845, near Platteville, Wis., and died at St. Elizabeth hospital in Lincoln July 13, 1935, at the age of 89. He came to Nebraska in 1864 at the age of 19 and went directly to Fort Laramie, Wyo., where he worked for the government hauling provisions with mule teams. He contracted mountain fever while there, was ill for many weeks, and as soon as he was able to travel he returned to Wisconsin. In 1865 he rode horseback to Nebraska and in 1866 he took the claim three miles west of Alvo which he owned at the time of his death. He lived on this claim alone for fourteen years.
In 1880 he married Annie Lytle of near Alvo. To them no children were born, but during their forty years of life together they made a home for three motherless girls; the late Mrs. Bessie Rhoden, Mrs. Irene Sutton , and Mrs. Florence Lewis. Mr. Kirkpatrick retired from the farm in 1905 and made covered wagon trip to Wisconsin. Returning home he settled in Alvo.
Mrs. Kirkpatrick died in 1919, after which he spent some time in his boyhood home. In 1921 he married Mrs. Nannie Barrett who died Last Feb. 16. Mr. Kirkpatrick was the last of his family, two brothers and two sisters having preceded him in death. He leaves ten nieces and nephews. He spent all of the past seventy-one years in the Alvo community, with the exception of a year in Lincoln and nine months in Texas.
He was a staunch supporter of all church and charitable organizations. Funeral services were held July 17 at 2:30 p.m. at the Methodist church in Alvo. Rev. R. J. McKenzie officiating. Interment was at Alvo.
