Mary "Hestell" Kirkpatrick

Posted at findagrave.com: Mary "Hestell" McKimmey passed away in St. George, Utah on Friday July 10th at the age of 91 surrounded by her loved ones. She was born July 6, 1918 in Rush Springs, Oklahoma. After moving to Pond, California in 1934, Hestell met the love of her life, R.L. "Buck" McKimmey. Buck & Hestell were married June 10, 1939 and spent a wonderful 53 years together, living most of it in Wasco, California.

Throughout Hestell's life she lived to make others happy. Her true calling came after the birth of her two children, Jerry Lee and Carol Sue. She was a devoted wife and mother and provided a loving and nurturing home for her family. In 1958, Buck and Hestell bought a small farm in Wasco, California where Hestell drove a tractor, irrigated and worked side by side with Buck. Some of the fondest memories of their grandchildren are of this little farm on the corner of Gunclub and Peterson. After retirement, she enjoyed traveling and fishing trips, especially to Independence, California and Pismo Beach. She also loved to play golf and dabbled in oil painting. She took great pleasure in her role as grandma to her four grandchildren.

Hestell was preceded in death by her parents, Baxter and Bertha Kirkpatrick, her husband, Buck McKimmey and her brother, Lewis Kirkpatrick. Deeply loved and appreciated by all, she is survived by her son Jerry & wife, Lillian McKimmey of Olympia, WA, her daughter, Sue & husband, Kirke Howard of St. George, UT; her four grandchildren, Bonnie & husband, Dan Lyons of Incline Village, NV; Jerry McKimmey, Jr. of Olympia, WA; Courtney Howard of Glennville, CA; Rachelle & husband Dave Capra of St. George, UT; five great grandchildren, David Towse & wife Dana and daughter, Bailey; Morgan McKimmey, Cooper Lyons and Jack & Joe Capra. Graveside services will be held on Saturday, July 18th at 9:00 a.m. at Wasco Memorial Park with the Reverend Wayne Montgomery officiating.

Visitation will be held at Peters Funeral Home, Wasco on Friday, July 17 from 2pm to 8pm. Thank you to Spilsbury Mortuary of St. George, Utah and Peters Funeral Home of Wasco and a special thank you to Shauna & Sherrie of Kolob Care.
