Gilham, Jr., of 2420 Harvard, died Tuesday in Townsend following an illness. Mr. Gilham was widely known in butte, and throughout the Treasure state. He was a graduate of both Montana State university and the Montana School of mines. In his collegiate days here he was active in basketball and coached teams composed of young Mining city men and boys when basketball was first introduced here. Mr. Gilham was born in Townsend in 1885. He was the son of the late Dr. G W. Gilham, one of Broadwater county's early-day members of the medical profession. At one time he was assistant superintendent of the old Keating mine at Radersburg, and later engaged in ranching, milling, and for some years was collector of internal revenue with headquarters in Anaconda. In addition to his son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Gilham of Butte, he is survived by two sons-in-law and daughters, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Throckmorton of Vancouver, Wash., and Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Huser of Kalispell. Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 1 o'clock in Townsend.
