Orpha Luetta McNeal, daughter of I. A. McNeal, was born near Gothenburg, Neb., January 7, 1911 and departed this life March 12, 1922, aged 11 years, 2 months and 5 days. Orpha's death was very sad. She left her home with a party of young people to go to a neighbors. They were all riding in a wagon, when one of the side boards on which they were leaning gave way and Orpha was thrown out, the wagon passing over her body. Her loving brothers and sisters and friends, who made up the party, took her to her home immediately, where she passed away in a short time. She realized she was going, and bade her loved ones all good bye, mentioning especially her baby brother. Orpha's mother being blind, she was deprived of many of the ministrations a mother might give her child, but she was lovingly reared with the help of her sisters. She was a child of sunny disposition and greatly endeared herself to her teacher and classmates, and in the home her merry ways will long be missed. She leaves to mourn her loss a loving father, four sisters and six brothers, besides other relatives and a host of friends. Her mother preceded her to the better world about three years ago. She was snatched away in an instant, From those who loved her so; But her soul is at rest with her maker, And she is happy there we know. Funeral services were held Sunday at the home north of Brady conducted by Rev. Rushlau and Monday forenoon services were held at the home of H. M. Ristine east of Gothenburg, conducted by Rev. A. V.
