Pratt, 79, of 44 Cayenne St., West Springfield died Friday at home. Born in Worcester Aug. 3, 1893, he had lived in West Springfield since 1936. He was president and treasurer of Pratt and Austin Paper Co. of Holyoke, founding the company in 1931, and retiring in 1972. He was an Army veteran of World War I, a member of the Holyoke American Legion Post 25. He was a past president of the Holyoke Lions Club and was vice-president and vice-chairman of the board of directors of the Park National Bank of Holyoke. He had served as chairman of the West Springfield Republican town Committee and was chairman of the finance committee of that town. He leaves his wife, Mrs. Clary (Nelson) Pratt; two sons, Richard N. of South Hadley and Robert C. of West Springfield, and two sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Packard and Miss Christine M. of Treasure Island, Fla. The funeral will be Monday at Curran-Jones funeral home with the Rev. Carlyle A. Smith, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Hillcrest Park Cemetery.
