Velzy passed away Sunday morning at the family home, 3594 Beechwood Place following a lengthy illness. Mrs. Velzy, who was 50 years of age, had been a resident of Riverside for more than 20 years. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. T. Kirkpatrick Riverside county pioneers, who developed the well-known Kirkpatrick ranch in the Menifee valley, and originally made their residence in Orange county following their arrival in California from Tennessee. During her long residence in Riverside, Mrs. Velzy was a member of the Riverside Woman's club, Calvary Presbyterian church and D.A. R. In addition to the husband, Dwight F. Velzy, a Riverside business man, Mrs. Velzy is survived by a daughter, Virginia; one son, Dwight F. Jr.; her mother, Mrs. Carrie [Callie] of East Fourth street, Riverside, and five brothers and three sisters, Robert Kirkpatrick of Elsinore, Wert Kirkpatrick Whittier, Lloyd Kirkpatrick of San Diego, Felix Kirkpatrick of West Riverside, Leonard Kirkpatrick of Menifee, Mrs. Bettye K. Cree of Palm Springs, Mrs. D. B. O'Neill of Riverside, and Mrs. Lulu Patton of San Bernardino. Funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock, from the chapel of Acheson & Graham.

Ezra James Egly officiating. Interment in Evergreen cemetery.
