Belleville News-Democrat, Belleville, Illinois, July 8, 2002, Page 2B: Gladys Hastings, nee Ham, 79, of Dupo, Ill., born Sept. 5, 1922, in Rombauer, Mo., died Saturday, July 6, 2002, at St. Mary's Hospital, East St. Louis, Ill. Mrs. Hastings was retired from Bridal Original, St. Louis, Mo., and was a member of Trinity General Baptist Church, Dupo, Ill. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles "Lynn" Hastings; her parents, Ira and Maud, Nee Henry, Ham; four brothers, Ardell, Rodney, Sherman and Clarence Ham; and a sister, Goldie Ham. Surviving are two daughters, Barbara (the Rev. Gale) Lambert of East Carondelet, Ill., and Linda (Terry) Turnipseed of Dupo, Ill; a brother, Med Ham of Puxico, Mo.; three sisters, Janavee Foster of Fish, Mo., Edith Buttry of Puxico, Mo., and Nellie Berens of Belleville, Ill.; five grandchildren Christe (Brian) Thompson, Ginger (Glenn) Freeman, Troy (Dawn) Turnipseed, Trevor Turnipseed and Todd (Jamie) Turnipseed; and 12 great-grandchildren. She was our dear sister-in-law, aunt, cousin and friend. Visitation: Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, July 8, 2002, at Braun Colonial Funeral Home, Cahokia, Ill., and from 9 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 9, 2002, at Trinity General Baptist Church, 252 Lime St., Dupo, Ill., and from 10 a.m. to noon Wednesday, July 10, 2002, at White Sanders Funeral Home, Fisk, Mo. Funeral: Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 9, 2002, at Trinity General Baptist Church, 252 Lime St., Dupo, Ill., with the Rev. Dennis Mitner officiating. Burial will follow viewing Wednesday, July 10, 2002, at White Sanders Funeral Home, Fisk, Mo., in Rombauer Cemetery, Rombauer, Mo.
