Cobb of Walnut died Saturday, Oct. 26, 1996, at Prairie Mission Retirement Village at St. Paul. She was 90 years old. She was born Aug. 26, 1906, at Savonburg, the daughter of Milton C. and Ida Ham Rumbeck.
She was an educator for many years in area rural districts and enjoyed the outdoors and all types of flowers. She was a member of the Elsmore United Methodist Church and a life member of Savonburg Order of the Eastern Star Chapter No. 335.
She married Rueben Walquist on Oct. 9, 1927. He died in October 1959. She married George Cobb on Oct. 20, 1963. He died in December 1983.
Survivors include a daughter, Phyllis Simms, Mesa, Ariz.; stepson Calvin Cobb; step-daughters Elizabeth Lyons, Ruth Buck and Anna Lou Inman; four grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and many step grand, great grand and great-great-grandchildren.
A sister, Zodeen Larson, is deceased. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the United Methodist Church in Elsmore, with burial in Swedish Cemetery. The Revs. Kent Scott and Lucille Barb will officiate. Memorials are suggested to St. John's Hospice, 1816 Parsons Plaza, Parsons, Kan. 67357, or Mission Angels, c/o Prairie Mission Retirement Village, 242 Carroll St. Paul, Kan. 66771.
