Ida Bell Ham

Iola Register, Iola, Kansas, Tuesday, August 18, 1959, Page 2, Col. 2: Mrs. Ida Bartling, 74, died at the Allen County Hospital here Thursday after an illness of several months. She had been a resident of this vicinity most of her life, born on a farm east of Porterville Oct. 1, 1884, the youngest child of Mr. and Mrs. Martin Van Ham. She was married Nov. 5, 1905, to Milton C. Rumbeck. He died in 1939. In 1941 she was married to Hayes Bartling of Seattle, Wash. With the exception of three years in Washington, she has lived in the Savonburg community all her life. She was a member of the Church of Christ, Scientist, in Iola, and a member of the Savonburg Order of the Eastern Star.

Mrs. Bartling is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Cleo Walquist, Savonburg, and Mrs. Zodeen Larson, Elsmore, three grandchildren and five great grandchildren. The funeral service will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Savonburg Methodist Church, with the Rev. Walter Enstrom in charge. Until then the body will lie in state at the Ralston Funeral Home, Moran. Burial will be in the Lutheran Cemetery west of Savonburg.
