Epha Abiasha Carter, a Butler County resident for the last 50 years, died unexpectedly of a heart attack about 1 this morning at his home at 804 North Second Street. He was 75 and was born in Hamilton County, Ill. He married the former Miss Zada Ann Ham on April 9, 1905. Besides his wife, he leaves a son: Truman S. Carter of Poplar Bluff; and a daughter, Mrs. Lucille [Lillian] Manning. He had been a member of the General Baptist Church for the last 30 years. Funeral services will be held at 2 Saturday afternoon at the General Baptist church on Gardner Street, conducted by the Rev. Ollie Latch. Burial will be in Woodlawn cemetery. Greer Croy and Fitch service.
