Mrs. Annie Elizabeth (Lizzie) Skelton, 85, of 405 North Bradley Street, died Thursday night in Wysong hospital following several weeks illness. A native of Celina, she born Dec. 1, 1883, the daughter of William and Alice Beck, pioneer resident of Collin county. She was a charger member of the Celina Christian Church and since residing in McKinney had been active in the First Christian Church. Mrs. Skelton was a member of the Eastern Star, Jane Douglas Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution, Texas Poetry Society, McKinney Garden Club and a leader in the civic and church life of the community. She married B. Frank Skelton at Alla Hubbard June 2, 1909, a well-known McKinney teacher at the time of his death. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. James A. Wilcox and Mrs. T. O. Kite, both of Dallas; son, Max B. Skelton of Houston; nine grandchildren, three great grandchildren; sister, Mrs. C. G. Courcier of California. Her husband and three sons preceded her in death. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in Turrentine-Jackson Chapel, Rev. Robert Hooks, officiating with burial in Pecan Grove.
