Daily American Republic, Poplar Bluff, Missouri, Monday, January 7, 1991, Page 6, Col. 2: Betty J. Edington, 57, of Poplar Bluff died at 4:20 a.m. today and AMI Lucy Lee Hospital. Mrs. Edington has been ill since October. She was a clerk/cashier at Kater Inn. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church. She was active in republican politics and served as a den mother in scouts for several years. She was born May 9, 1933 in Doniphan. She was married June 26, 1953 in Sedgewickville to Harold A. Edington Sr. who preceded her in death March 29, 1979. Survivors include three children, Sharon J. Luttrull and Joseph W. Edington, both of Poplar Bluff, Harold A. Edington Jr. of Independence; one brother, Thomas Ponder of West Chicago, Ill.; one sister, Bonnie Allen of Columbia; two half sisters, Isabelle Gruver of Mesa, Ariz., Billie Dunn of Amarillo, Texas; and seven grandchildren. Visitation will be after 7 p.m. today at Cotrell Funeral Chapel in Poplar Bluff. The funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday also at Cotrell with the Rev. Al Mitchener officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
