Alfred "Clark" Phelps

The Salt Lake Tribune, Salt Lake City, Utah, Tuesday, August 18, 1998: Alfred Clark Phelps, 87, died August 16, 1998 in Murray, Utah. Born April 15, 1911 in Oak Creek, Colorado to James Alfred Phelps and Elizabeth Jeanette Walker Phelps. Married Bathea Embley, July 28, 1935 in Salt Lake City. Marriage later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. She died September 16, 1994.
Clark was an active member of the LDS Church serving in various callings, was an Eagle Scout and worked many years in scouting, and was a member of Paridice Square Dance Club for years. He retired from the Maintenance Dept. at the University of Utah.
Survived by a daughter and two sons, Diana (Dennis) Floyd, Thomas (Sandi) Phelps, James Phelps; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and two sisters and two brothers, Barbara, Dana, Oliver and William. Preceded in death by his wife, Bathea of 59 years.
Funeral service will be held Wednesday, August 19, 1998, 2 p.m. at the Crystal Heights 2nd Ward, 1970 E. Stratford Avenue (2560 So.). Friends may call Tuesday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Larkin Sunset Lawn, 2350 East 1300 So. and Wednesday from 12:45-1:45 p.m. prior to service at the Ward. Interment Larkin Sunset Lawn.
