Daily American Republic, Poplar Bluff, Missouri, Wednesday, September 7, 1988, Page 7A, Col. 4: Zelma Wright, 78, of 300 South C St., died at 4:50 a.m. today in Lucy Lee Hospital. She had been ill several months. A lifetime resident of Butler County, Mrs. Wright was born Aug. 4, 1910, in Hamtown. She was married to Dewey S. Wright on June 28, 1930, in Rombauer. He died on Aug. 27, 1966. Survivors include one daughter, Lillian Parker of Wappapello; four grandchildren she raised, David Wright of Tacoma, Wash., Susan McCrellis and Sandra McCrellis both of Poplar Bluff, and James McCrellis of Wappapello; one brother, Archie Smith of St. James; and two great grandchildren. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Fitch Funeral Home, with the Rev. Chester Ham officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. The family requests any memorials be made to the Poplar Bluff Public Library.
