Abilene Reporter News, Abilene, Texas, Friday, March 2, 1973, Page 13, Col. 2: Sweetwater (RNS)---John Pendleton Aycock, 78, owner of the Sweetwater Marble and Granite Co., died at 3:30 p.m. Thursday at Timmons Memorial Hospital after a brief illness. Funeral is pending with McCoy Funeral Home. He was born May 25, 1894, in Brownwood and married Ruby Grace Wilson May 28, 1917, in Eastland. They moved to Sweetwater in 1918, when he established the Sweetwater Mable and Granite Co.

Mr. Aycock was a member of the First United Methodist Church and a charter member of the Sweetwater Kiwanis Club. Survivors are his wife; two sons, Joe of Wichita Falls and Jack of Sweetwater; and three grandchildren.
