Posted at findagrave.com: Manning---John Kirkpatrick Brogdon, 78, husband of Carolyn Wilder Brogdon, died Saturday, Nov. 30, 2002, at Tuomey Regional Medical Center. Born Nov. 29, 1924, in Alcolu, he was a son of the late Sam John Brogdon and the late Lois Kirkpatrick Brogdon. He was a retired farmer, a World War II Air Force veteran, and a deacon, former usher and member of Manning First Baptist Church and the Crusaders Sunday School class. Survivors besides his wife of Manning are a daughter, Jane Brogdon Best and her husband, the Rev. David Best, of Kernersville, N.C.; a sister, Rebecca Brogdon Davis of Jackson, Tenn.; a grandson, John David Best; and a granddaughter, Rachel Best. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Monday in Manning First Baptist Church with the Rev. Danny Bridges and the Rev. David Best officiating. Burial will follow in Manning Cemetery.
