Sam John Brogdon

The State, Columbia, South Carolina, Sunday, May 16, 1965, Page 32, Col. 5 & 6: Sam J. Brogdon. Manning---Sam John Brogdon, 67, died Saturday at Clarendon Memorial Hospital following a heart attack. Born in Sumter County, he was the son of the late John B. and Eudora McFaddin Brogdon and was a farmer, manager of the market bureau, president of Clarendon Realty and Insurance Co., a former State Highway commissioner and was presently serving on the State Highway Condemnation Board. He was a member of Clarendon Industrial Development Board and a past member of Clarendon County School Board. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Lois Kirkpatrick Brogdon; one daughter, Mrs. Joe Davis of Jackson, Tenn.; one son, John K. Brogdon of Alcolu and one sister, Mrs. Hal P. Love of Monroe, N. C. Funeral services will be at 4 p.m. Sunday at Graham Baptist Church with interment in Manning Cemetery. The body is at Shelley-Brunson Funeral Home, Sumter.
