Chester, April 6---Funeral services were conducted yesterday at Olivet Presbyterian church for William Elias Ashe, 50, of the McConnellsville community, who died late Monday night at his home following an illness. Burial was in the church cemetery. December 19, 1917, he married Miss Alma Macie Kirkpatrick of Bascomville, who survives him along with the following children:James Calvin Ashe, Francis Marion Ashe, Edwin Kirkpatrick Ashe, Miss Lois Kizziah Ashe and Miss Eliza Inman Ashe, William Eliza Ashe, Jr., another son died in infancy. Three sisters and a brother also survive, Miss Ina Inman Ashe, Mrs. Estelle Wilson of Lowrys, Mrs. Ruth Lever of McConnellsville and John Luther Ashe of Rock Hill, Mrs. Massey Harshaw, another sister died a number of years ago. He was born July 1, 1888, being a son of James Calvin Ashe and Eliza Inman Ashe. He was a deacon in the Olivet Presbyterian church and always took a great interest in all phases of the church's activities. He was a 32nd degree Mason and a Shriner. He was educated at Davidson college and was a member of Kappa Alpha fraternity.
