The Record, Hackensack, New Jersey, December 28, 1988: Robert W. Cooke, 76, of Wayne died Sunday. Before retiring in 1977, he was an art professor at William Paterson College, Wayne, for 19 years. He was a 1935 graduate of the University of Kansas, Lawrence, and earned a doctorate degree from Columbia Teacher's College in 1957. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church at Franklin Lakes, the United Methodist Church of Wayne, the New Jersey Designer-Craftsman Organization, the National Education Association, and the Pine Lake Seniors. Survi- ving are his wife, Lucile Knuth Cooke; a son, Paul K. of Appleton, Wis.; two daughters, Betsy Malpass, stationed at the U.S. Embassy in Dhaka, Bangladesh, and Roberta Gluesenkamp of Beaverton, Ore.; two sisters, Lorena Mears of Abilene, Kansas, and Thelma DeMarea of Kansas City, Mo., and four grandchildren. Services will be Friday at 10 a.m. at Presbyterian Church at Franklin Lakes. Visiting will be Thursday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Vander May Wayne Colonial Funeral Home, Wayne. Donations to the William Paterson College Alumni Scholarship Fund, Wayne, N.J. 07470, would be appreciated.
