Thelma Ann Cooke was born 15 or 16 April 1907. She married Michael Joseph DeMarea on 23 April 1938. DeMarea was born 10 October 1905. Mike worked as a wholesaler and salesman of produce. The DeMareas lived in Kansas City, Jackson County, Missouri. Thelma was a registered nurse.

Thelma A. DeMarea, 84, Overland Park, died Dec. 31, 1991, at Saint Joseph Health Center. She was born in Beloit, Kan., and had lived in this area since 1928. Mrs. DeMarea was a registered nurse at Trinity Lutheran Hospital, retiring in 1972. She was a member of the Colonial Presbyterian Church. She was a member of Chapter FC of the PEO Sisterhood. Her husband of 50 years, Michael J. DeMarea Sr., died in 1989. Survivors include two sons, Michael J. DeMarea Jr., Kansas City, and Larry B. DeMarea, Overland Park, and five grandchildren. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the church; burial in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Raytown. Friends may call from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Friday at the Mount Moriah & Freeman Chapel. The family suggests contributions to the American Diabetes Association or the church.
