Geraldine Verda Payne was born 4 January 1921. She married on 24 January 1942 to Thomas Edward Hudsonpillar, son of Joseph and Hilma (Holman) Hudsonpillar. Thomas Edward had his name changed in 1946 from Hudsonpillar to Johnson because his older half-siblings were named Johnson. There were two (2) children born of the marriage.

Mrs. Johnson was born Jan. 4, 1921, in Mount Pleasant, Iowa. She is survived by her sons: Richard Johnson and his wife, Pamela, Kansas City, Mo.; and Michael Johnson and his wife, Linda, Fayetteville; sister, Rosalie Gregg, Dearborn, Mich.; brother, John Payne and wife, Pauline, Scottsdale, Ariz.; grandchildren: Robert Johnson, Merriam, Kan.; Amy Hankins and husband, Josh, Olathe, Kan.; Shannon Johnson and Christopher Johnson, Fayetteville; and four great-grandchildren, Zachary, Ashlynne, Jacob and Mackenzie Hankins, all of Olathe, Kan. Mrs. Johnson was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas E. Johnson, and will be reunited with him at 10 a.m. Friday, April 17, at a graveside service at Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial gifts to the American Stroke Foundation, 5960 Dearborn, Suite 100, Mission, KS 66202.Services are under the direction of Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory.
