Gladys Lucille Feaster

Greensburg Daily News, Greensburg, Indiana, August 25, 1975: Mrs. Gladys Kirkpatrick, 84, for many years a resident of Greensburg, died at 3 a.m. Sunday at the Indiana Masonic Home at Franklin. She had been a guest at the home for the past three years. A native of St. Paul, she was the daughter of John Buchanan and Ada Pierson Feaster. She was born April 10, 1881. Following her marriage to Clifford P. Kirkpatrick on Oct. 10, 1910, she had resided in Greensburg, until being admitted to the Masonic Home at Franklin. Her husband, who preceded her in death on Nov. 8, 1961, was the founder of the Leader Shoe Store here and was a county leader in conservation. Mrs. Kirkpatrick was a member of the Greensburg United Methodist Church. She had been a member of Lois Chapter No. 147, Order of Eastern Star, for over 50 years. In her earlier years, she was active in the Greensburg Department Club in planning club programs. She also gained recognition for skill in making quilts. Surviving Mrs. Kirkpatrick are: Three sons, John W. and Ross P. Kirkpatrick, both of Indianapolis, and Charles M. Kirkpatrick, Lafayette, professor in wildlife management at Purdue University; and seven grandchildren. Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at South Park Cemetery here. The Rev. Robert E. Williams, pastor of the Greensburg United Methodist Church, will conduct the rites.
