Dixie Jane Kirkpatrick was born 15 September 1929 in Chaonia, Wayne County, Missouri. She married Robert Dale McSpadden and have made their home in Van Buren, Carter County, Missouri.

Dixie was born to parents James and Mable Kirkpatrick on Sept. 19, 1928, in Piedmont, Mo. She married Robert McSpadden on May 24, 1948, and the couple had three children.
Dixie was an avid nature advocate; she enjoyed hunting, fishing, and documenting local flora and fauna. She had many friends and enjoyed meeting people while running the Standard Service Station on Main Street.
Dixie was an accomplished painter, seamstress (doll making and quilting), and multimedia artis (egg decoration). She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert McSpadden, Sr.; her parents, James and Mable Kirkpatrick; two sister: Jo Eastman and Ann Lindgren; and two brothers: Jr. (James) Kirkpatrick and Eugene Kirkpatrick.
She loved her family and friends deeply. Dixie is survived by her daughter, Andrea Blurton; two sons: Robert McSpadden Jr. (Josie) and Patrick McSpadden (Rhonda); two sisters: Clara Etta Graffe and Sue Gooch; three grandchildren, Heather Wallace, Eric Dazey, and Ashley Jackson; three great-grandchildren: Kaitlyn Towner, Will Towner, and Felicity Jackson. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life will be scheduled at a later date.
